123 TUNE
By connecting the 123 TUNE to the computer, it can be set exactly and without restrictions to the user's wishes in a very easy way, no matter how demanding they are. The ignition offers two advance curves that are switchable, this adjusts the ignition if you drive on two different fuels such as petrol and LPG or petrol and E85. The 123 TUNE has a vacuum connection which remains unconnected if this possibility is not present, as with many tuned engines equipped with larger carburetors. This makes the 123 TUNE suitable for all possible engines from standard to heavy tuning. Here all the extra features that the 123 TUNE has to offer more than the standard models:
- two advance curves (500 to 8000 rpm)
- two vacuum advance & boost-retard curves (0 to 200 kPa or -30 inHg to +15 psi)
- two speed limits (MAP start) where vacuum advance starts when connected
- two speed-limit fields (advanced random spark stealing)
- real-time tuning from the keyboard (ideal for working with a dynamometer)
- RPM stopwatch (ideal for tuning on the road)
- luxury 'import-from-file' and 'export-to-file' options. (easy exchange of curves)
- electronic "dashboard" with:
temperature meter (in Celsius or gr.Fahrenheit)
pressure intake manifold (in Bar or in inches Hg / Psi)
tachometer (0 to 8000 rpm crankshaft)
spark-energy meter (current in ignition coil)
meters with the total advance (in degrees crankshaft)

The ignition system in our classic Volkswagen can cause many problems. After years of use, the mechanical flow divider gets worn out and gets an ever larger deviation. If available for your motorcycle you can replace the complete flow divider, but there is a much better alternative: the 123 ignition for both standard and tuned engines.
The 123 ignition is delivered in a housing that is very similar to the original, but you will no longer encounter any mechanical parts internally. The outdated mechanical system has been replaced for a hi-tech computer-controlled system, creating an optimal ignition system with maximum performance and virtually maintenance free.
All mechanical parts such as contact points, centrifugal weights, springs, bearings and the vacuum diagram have been replaced by only one component: the central shaft with rotor. The internal electronics provide the correct advance and the optimum contact angle at different speeds, so you get a maximum spark at every speed. The parts that are used to put the ignition on time are not subject to wear. to fine-tune once and you do not have to worry about anything else.
For the standard 123 ignition, the correct advance curve for your motor is set with a small switch behind the socket head screw in the bottom of the housing (there are 16 different advance curve settings available) and with the TUNE version you can set this even more refined and even under the drive using the USB port on your laptop. Especially this latest version is very suitable for tuned engines from a fast street version to heavy racing. Every 123 ignition is also equipped with a synchronous technology which is normally only applied in the formula 1, where very high speeds are achieved. The electronics constantly looks at the amount of energy that is contributed per cylinder, imagine that the compression of one cylinder deviates with respect to the other cylinders, then the rotation of the flywheel becomes less even, so that the rotation of the camshaft also runs less evenly . The 123 ignition detects this and adjusts the ignition timing per cylinder, resulting in a steady engine that delivers more power and wears less quickly. These are not the only advantages over traditional ignition, here all advantages:
- automatic quick start program for cold engine
- synchronous improvement as stated above
- contact angle (dwell angle) is continuously adjusted and corrected
- switches itself off after 1 second with the ignition switched on and the engine not running (ignition coil is spared)
- fuel saving
- working on both 6 and 12 Volt (is automatically recognized)
123 ignition systems are suitable for:
type 1 engines with the exception of 25 and 30 hp
type 3 engines
CT / CZ engines *
type 4 engines *
* if there is an electronic ignition present at the factory then take ignition coil # 613 or # 5260 extra, the current ignition coil is not suitable for this
