The most sought gearboxes are those of the S models, either the standard beetles a 1600 cc engine and had been fitted with a gearbox with a ratio of 8:31 (388) If you have no knowledge need of gearboxes choose a readymade 8:31 reconditioned gearbox but for those who like to customize their existing gearbox we have here the most important part, the crown wheel and pinion in the ratio of 8:31 (388). The pinion and the crown wheel is supplied as a set and should never be mounted separately, these parts wear and polish themselves. This crown wheel & pinion is only suitable if the gear to 4th gear on the pinion shaft is secured with a half moon! Check this first before you order.
